Philosophy

David’s Approach to Mindfulness

David’s philosophy is straightforward: mindfulness shouldn’t require you to overhaul your life. It’s not about finding perfect quiet or spending hours on meditation cushions. It’s about fitting genuine stress relief into the life you’re actually living right now.

His journey into mindfulness came from necessity. After burning out in corporate HR in 2012, David experienced firsthand what chronic stress does to your body and mind. That experience — painful as it was — became the foundation for everything he now teaches. He doesn’t offer theoretical advice. He offers techniques he’s tested on himself, refined with clients, and validated through research.

What makes David’s work distinct in Hong Kong is his respect for reality. He’s not suggesting you meditate for an hour daily. He’s created 3-minute breathing exercises for MTR Line Island journeys. He’s identified actual green spaces where you can practice for 10 minutes during lunch. He’s reviewed apps that work in Cantonese. His protocols assume you’re busy, stressed, and skeptical — and he meets you there.

David believes sustainable stress management comes from integration, not transformation. Small practices that actually happen beat perfect practices that never fit into your schedule. That’s why his clients stick with what they’ve learned.
